Joel Dumas lives a life that most men can only dream about.
With a simple philosophy of being creative, staying true to one’s self and most importantly having fun, he lives for experience and artistic expression.

Born in Montreal from humble backgrounds, his entrepreneur spirit emerged from the very beginning.  Driven by his instincts, Joel set out to rise above his origins with his first formal business, a convenience store set at the bottom of an apartment building in 1999.  Café Mosaik was born : a small market and café that drew artists, actors, musicians and like-minded individuals where ideas blossomed every day.

In the year 2000, it was also in Montreal that Joel made his first foray into real estate projects when he was commissioned to redesign eight lofts in what was then a very poor and rundown neighbourhood albeit with great potential.  Success, praise and financial achievement followed immediatly. However, being more a man of substance than of dollar signs, Joel choose to move forward in life by travelling to Asia with his wife and son, Eloi.

The summer of 2001 brought him across India, Thailand, and eventually to Indonesia.  Starting with just the import and export of doors, he begun to search for new business ventures and opportunities.  In 2003 the birth of his second child, his daughter Naïmé, brought him back to Montreal but soon enough he returned to Asia where his cycle of art and journey have begun.  Back in Bali, the need of a lifestyle of freedom and less stress became more and more clear. Time had come to explore his creative side.

From the magical air, land, and water of Bali, inspiration has pushed Joel to unexpected places. Interests in his work now emantes from Costa Rica, New York City, and Brazil. 
Never conventional and doing things his own way, making deals in person and “from the soul”, he has always had people believe, support, and invest in not only his work, but also his personality. 
The only question is asks himself is : How much fun will I have with this? 

A good barometer and a sure way to happiness.
